Mon, November 23, 2009 — CIO — Let's be honest. Most of us could do a better job handling our money. When times are good, we probably spend too much. When times are bad, too many of us stick our heads in the sand. Both, of course, are bad ideas. The Web has a wealth, indeed a surfeit, of tools and information to help you manage your personal finances.
To get an idea of just how much, simply take a look at Google's personal finance directory. It's overwhelming. So I've culled the list to find Web sites and tools that you'll find helpful and I find trustworthy. This is by no means "a best of the Web" list. It's too difficult to make that call, and I've avoided sites that have no free information.
That is personal finance management digitized. We've done away with paper-and-pen for some years now, and what's even more fun are these web tools' numerous nifty functions. They are just so advanced that we can see in a few clicks and seconds how we stand and how we will be doing with our finances. But this is just a portion of a bigger equation. Another thing to keep in mind is the set of things that we do in maintaining a handsome financial standing. And tips from experts like coaches and accountants give us more empowerment in the perusal of these online tools.
